Privacy Policy

RentBeacon (“we”, “us”) provides rent estimate widgets, property reports, and neighborhood market data pages for property management companies. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. It covers both our customers (property management companies with a RentBeacon account) and property owners who interact with a RentBeacon widget on a customer’s website.

Information we collect

Account data. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and company name through our authentication provider, Clerk. Billing details are collected and stored by Stripe; we never see or store full payment card numbers.

Owner leads. When a property owner uses a rent estimate widget on a customer’s website, we collect the information they submit — property address and, if they choose to request a full report, their name and email — together with the page the request came from. We process this data on behalf of the property management company whose site hosts the widget; it belongs to them and is delivered to them.

Usage data. We record anonymous widget interaction events (widget viewed, address entered, estimate shown, report opened) so customers can see how their widget performs. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use information

We use collected information to generate rent estimates and property reports, deliver leads to the property management company (by email, webhook, or their connected CRM), operate and secure the service, bill subscriptions, and send transactional email. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use owner lead data for our own marketing.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of processors to run RentBeacon: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), RentCast (property and market data), and Google Maps Platform (address autocomplete). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.

Data security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit, and sensitive credentials such as CRM API keys are encrypted at rest. Lead data is retained for as long as the associated customer account is active. Customers can request deletion of their account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Property owners’ rights

If you submitted your information through a rent estimate widget on a property management company’s website, that company is the controller of your data. You can contact them directly, or email us at hello@rentbeacon.io and we will help route your access or deletion request.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change, and update the date above. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@rentbeacon.io.
